It's going to be a doggone good weekend at CARA Animal Shelter as their miracle pup celebrates a big milestone. Francis the dog will be making his first birthday this Sunday. It was this time last year that the pup was found in a coma in a box on the side of the road. But with tons of prayers and lots of love, he is fully recovered, has a new place to call home and even helped pass our state's first felony animal welfare law. It's been a big year for Francis, and what a difference a year makes. Everyone is invited to come have fun on Francis' big day. His party will be this Sunday from 2pm-4:30pm at CARA on North Flag Chapel Road in Jackson. The public can get birthday cake, shelter tours and even take pictures with the birthday boy.
